This sonic sprawling clocks in at almost eight minutes, and is almost reminiscent of the most experimental era of Pink Floyd -- their pre-success days that saw them doing the soundtrack to the film More or even the epic Ummagumma. The detached and reverbed guitar riffs (solo?) is a mantra of mysticism. Herbcraft bring echoing flute riffs and syncopted Indian-influenced rhythms that even Anton Newcombe of Brian Jonestown Massacre would be jealous of.
Herbrcraft started out as a project for Matt Lajoie, who followed a familiar script of bedroom recording explorations that led to adding band members later on, now Herbcraft are releasing the album The Astral Body Electric on the Woodsist label http://www.woodsist.com/ later this year, who add that it was "'aurally massaged' into the 4th dimension by Matt MV Valentine with his signature Spectrasound mastering technique." Psych out.
