It seems like just yesterday that Sub Pop was cranking out Tad, Mudhoney and Nirvana albums ... now it's ready turn the BIG 25. They have a lot of big events happening, including a compilation titled Sub Pop 1000, which arrives on 4/20, Record Store Day. They're promising "unreleased and exclusive tracks, and will be available digitally and on dazzling, silver-ish vinyl in a limited edition of 5,000 copies." Check out the full tracklist below.
But there's more! Sub Pop will also throw down with a major event in Seattle on July 13 called The Silver Jubilee, which is basically a music festival disguised as a MASSIVE PARTY. Details are scant just yet, but they're describing it by saying "we are fairly certain there will be some combination of… Actual live bands, playing actual live music! Some sort of art-related something or other! Like, in a gallery space, we’re thinking! A record fair-type event! Food! Beer and wine!" So it's like an All Tomorrows Parties Festival with Sub Pop as the curator, only in Seattle instead of England and one epic day instead of three. Time to book some airfare ....
