Following on the release of the regrouped Dead Can Dance album Anastasis last year, the band is releasing a new live version taken from perfomances from their 85 show world tour over the past year. The band is touring again this year and will make stops at Coachella, Primavera Sound and the Roskilde Festival. Anastasis has various CD, vinyl and digital packages that all offer different versions of the show and previous album studio version. They've also announced a new single with the song "Opium," which you can preview below.
“I would say without hesitation that this has been the most rewarding tour that we have ever undertaken. On one level it has been an absolute pleasure to perform in such beautiful locations with such a wonderful band and crew, but also to be able to connect on a personal level with the many devoted admirers of our art both old and new," said Brendan Perry.
Dead Can Dance released Anastasis last year before going on the world tour. It was the first Dead Can Dance album in 16 years, and was a return to form. They recharged since 1996's album Spiritchaser, and poured a lot of energy into Anastasis as a whole ... take for example the thought process behind the title. “I thought ‘Anastasis’ was a good title given our reunion. ’Anastasis’ also means ‘in between two stages, comes with the next season,” said Brendan Perry.
