What's the big deal about "In Your Car" from Big Deal? It's a great blend of The Pixies-alternative influence from a UK band that wanted to write a California pop-influenced song. So how does a band from the one of the most rain-soaked countries go about writing a sunny pop song? Go to California and hit the coastline for a drive. California pop from the place it originated. "In Your Car" is from the album June Gloom due out on the normally gloomy Mute Records on June 4.
“That fun, road trip kind of a song doesn’t happen a lot with English rock bands because it’s just not in the culture,” said Kacey Underwood. Muute records adds "Fleshing out their delicate, nocturnal tones Kacey and Alice take their sound to deeper, darker and more intoxicating height, courtesy of producer Rory Attwell (Veronica Falls, PAWS, Male Bonding) and a full band featuring bass and drums."
