Any music or news fan using Twitter to stay on the pulse will be excited to find out that it's going to get even bigger with the launch of the new Twitter music app this week. They're giving a dedicated location: music.twitter.com and early reports are saying it's an iOS-only device (read: iPad and iPhone), but take a trip their on your computer and you'll find a spot reserved for it as a twitter music page.
Twitter music is also looking to focus on music discovery with a wide use of the hashtags #music and #nowplaying; it also has support from big streaming services like Spotify, Rdio and SoundCloud as well as YouTube and iTunes. Twitter recently bought the web site We Are Hunted, and plans to use that as part of the Twitter Music app.
The site is now out of service, with this posted as part of a longer message on their home page: " While we are shutting down wearehunted.com, we will continue to create services that will delight you, as part of the Twitter team. There's no question that Twitter and music go well together. Artists turn to Twitter first to connect with fans, and people share and discover new songs and albums every day. We can't wait to share what we've been working on at Twitter."
