The new Small Black video for the song "Free At Dawn." It's almost a video collage, with a series of words and short burst motion sequences working their way through time with an abstract narrative. All in all, the sequences build up into evoking a feeling of the freedom of the beginning of a new day ... the sun's coming up, people are starting their day, and the baggage and stress of the day hasn't set in yet. Free At Dawn. The video was directed by Yoonha Park.
The synth-based electro indie pop band have a new album coming out called Limits of Desire, due out on May 14 on Jagjaguwar, who calls them "locked and popped drum-shudder, gauzy spirographic synths and subtly contagious, half-remembered melody into ebullient bursts of evocative, subliminal and thoroughly modern pop."
