Too good to be true. The Flaming Lips covered David Bowie’s classic song “Heroes” in true Flaming Lips style. It has the requisite spaciness to support the new “The Terror”-style aesthetic on their new album. Echoey vocals, new-school, post-punk guitars, and plenty of lights from the Flaming Lips. it’s a live performance in their own studio, as have been some of the other videos surrounding the new album.

Spacelab writer Corey Tate reviewed The Terror and said “The Terror takes the awesomely big Flaming Lips persona and moves it firmly into new and more experimental territory ... they've moved to the dark side. It's not a downer, either ... they haven't removed any of the elements that made their music great over the years. The Terror is built on similar foundations to Yoshimi, The Soft Bulletin, any of the classics. The filter is different though, they've portrayed it in a completely different way.” Read the full review.
