The new Fuck Buttons album looks to be the first one in which the band has overseen production from beginning to end on their own. They worked in their own Space Mountain studio to produce the album themselves, with Andrew Hung saying “We've used producers as safety nets in the past, but we've always had a very specific idea of what our music should sound like and so it became about following the logical path.” They also made themselves stick to one rule during the songwriting process: they had to be in the same room at the same time.

The album is titled Slow Focus, a name that means looking at and hearing something in upforont and direct way.  “Slow Focus seemed like a very apt title when considering the sentiment of the music. It almost feels like the moment your eyes take to readjust when waking, and realising you're in a very unusual and not a particularly welcoming place. We like to think that we create our own new landscapes, and with this it's a very alien one,” said Benjamin John Power.

Fuck Buttons will release their album Slow Focus on July 23 via ATP Recordings. Check them out at Primavera Sound, the Glastonbury Festival or the Green Man Festival. In the meantime, check out the song "Surf Solar" from their last album Tarot Sport.
