Denver band Gauntlet Hair have a new stream for the song “Bad Apple,” it’s from their new album called Stills coming out on Dead Oceans on July 16. The song is a little more up front and less gothic than the previously released “Human Nature.” Call it disenchanted indie rock with a pop insight. The band recorded it during the dark and gray days of winter in Jacob Portrait’s (Unknown Mortal Orchestra) Portland studio aptly called “The Cave,” and the press release cites Gauntlet Hair’s affinity for “goth industrialists and post-punks” as a driver on this album’s sound. It’s Joy Division reimagined for the modern age.
