The Pixies Are Going On Tour With Their New Bassist, The New Kim

New Kim, same as the old Kim? After last week’s news that Kim Deal had quit her longtime gig as the founding bassist of the legendary alternative band the Pixies comes the news that they have a new bassist, and are going on tour! Kim Shattuck is the new Kim Deal, according to the band, who said “Kim will be playing bass guitar / backing vocals on the upcoming tour announced today. You may know Kim from LA band The Muffs and previously from The Pandoras.

Check out the full list of  Pixies tour dates. They just released the second new song last week, the second since the band’s reemergence after their long hiatus. The song is called Bagboy , and you can get a free MP3 download of the song below (after you check out the video of course.”
