|DJ Shadow is proving himself to remain the master of perpetual reinvention. His new All Basses Covered tour sees him innovating again, by "switching from playing on drum pads to digital software and Pioneer CDJs." He moves seamlessly from hip hop to to juke to dubstep, throwing anything from the past as well his recent work.
He just finshed a run of shows in Japan and Europe, and is bringing the All Basses Covered experience with him. He's a button-pusher, sure -- but he's also a musician and does a live performance too. Check out how he broke it down in a recent interview with The Quietus: "There is one thing I will say. If Serato gives you access to thousands of songs, why are all the DJs still playing the same ten songs over and over and over again?"
Old school wins again.
