No Age are reupping on their punk bona fides by getting all DIY on the release of their upcoming album An Object, doing everything from the production and reproducing of the album copies to directing the videos themselves, including the video for “An Impression” here. "Well, I want to manufacture it. Manufacture the cover, manufacture the label, manufacture the vinyl," said Dean Spunt when speaking to SPIN.
The effect is interesting, No Age are spreading their imprint across all parts of their media. Instead of going out and finding an interesting indie film producer or an underground or hip actor to star in the video to try to push people into engaging, they're offering the No Age artistic vision across all parts of their media ... which is what punk music was about as it sprung up in London, New York and LA in the seventies. Props.
No Age is currently out on tour and their album An Object arrives on Aug. 20 on Sub Pop Records. Check out more of their music at the links below.
