The hyper-charged song goes well with the intensity of the video "Staying Home." At one minute and forty one seconds, it's over before you know it. Play it twice!
Superchunk released the flip side of their 2010 release Majesty Shredding on their new album I Hate Music last month on Merge Records. The band is doing darker music, contrary to the feel-good vibe of Majesty Shredding, and I Hate Music will be it’s “dark twin” according to Merge Records. A Superchunk tour is happening.
The video was directed by Taiyo Kimura
Merge Records said “There’s a dark undercurrent as well. That title isn’t tongue-in-cheek, but it’s really more a question than a statement: When you’re 20, lazy co-workers and romantic missteps number among your biggest worries; two decades later, life’s bigger questions knock louder and louder, demanding answers.”
