Arcade Fire was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live last night, and they did not disappoint. They played the songs “Reflektor” and “Afterlife.” The performance versions of the songs proved to be pretty lively ... kind of improv at times. “Reflektor” had tension points that looked like the band was about to break out into a full on jam, but bled the tension line between the original song and going full on with it. It was a nice touch.
There was also the sketch called "New Cast Member or Arcade Fire?" Winn actually pulled off a semi-credible Robert DeNiro impression. Afterwards NBC aired an Arcade Fire special with the band playing a number of songs live. It’s was called “Here Comes the Night Time” and was done by the Creators Project. Check it out below.
Check out the Arcade Fire Saturday Night Live promos (Tina Fey *mistakenly* calls them Coldplay) and the band's SNL performance with Mick Jagger from two years ago. Their album Reflektor is due out at the end of next month, watch the “Reflektor” interactive video here and the regular “Reflektor” video here.
