The new video from Junip is the title track to their Walking Lightly EP. Directed by Fredrik Egerstrand, the video does a lot of tight, up-close-and-personal shots to portray an intimate look at the band. The EP was released last week, and Junip is touring in Europe before heading over to the US. The new EP includes remixes from John Roberts, Maps, Tobacco, and To Rococo Rot. Fredrik Egerstrand also directed The Extraordinary Ordinary Life of José González, and you can watch part of that below.
Given that most people know José González from his solo work, it's worth noting that Junip was the band he was in before he became known as the indie folk phenomenon José González. Junip is a band though, not a González side project. Although his solo work keeps him busy, Junip has been working out releases as they can. Here's why:
“A mixture of us being slow – we didn't send [our music] out to that many people – and I guess it was half-hearted in the amount of time we let it take to grow because we released the EP and I went back to touring. We were aiming at doing a full-length album, but we didn't have enough songs and also my label really wanted me to start working on my next solo album. A lot of stuff happened during that time. I wanted to follow up the attention I was getting,” has said when speaking to The Independent.
