The new Lee Ranaldo album Night on Earth is due out next week on Matador Records on Oct. 8. In addition to his previous song “Leece, Leaving” he's just released “Ambulancer.” The song is a sublime and contemplative escape. The hard edge from the truly experimental Sonic Youth days has given way into a more introspective songcraft, something I thought Lee would be that last member of the group to pursue. It works well here though, the song is a deeper listen that rewards repeated plays with a deeper context.

Matador Records expands on this: "After an exhaustive stretch of domestic and international touring (with more to come — see below) Lee & The Dust have formed a powerhouse unit, and we’re confident the results of these Echo Canyon West sessions will impress & inspire for months to come, if not far longer."
