Popular streaming music service Rdio is now partnering with music intelligence platform The Echo Nest to introduce a new ‘Recommendations’ feature that lets users to stream their favorite songs, albums, stations and playlists. The intelligent recommendations suggest songs to listeners, and is expected to launch via Apple iOS and Android mobile app software soon.
Developers across the globe now have access to millions of songs via Rdio’s API. Mobile app software developers can now use recommendations from The Echo Nest and Rdio’s music catalog to create engaging apps. New music applications being developed will offer 30-second samples of songs via Rdio.
Plus, when a new user signs up, the developer will get 2-3% of the subscription fee. Hence, it's a win-win situation for all the parties involved, whether it’s Rdio, The Echo Nest, the developer or the listener. When a streaming music service like Rdio partners with The Echo Nest (which offers an amazing array of music data) good things can happen.
