Good news if you’re using Windows Phone 8.1 and Xbox Music: Microsoft has updated all of its built-in Windows 8.1 apps, with a focus on user experience. The Xbox Music app was part of this, and had three major upgrades.
Xbox Music now gives you more details about the artist. Whether you play a song from your collection or from the store, the Music app will give you details like the artist’s latest album, popular songs and even inform you about similar artists.
Secondly, visibility of the playback controls and playlists has been made permanent on the screen. These features have made the Music app easier to use and understand.
Thirdly, the New Albums and Top Music galleries have been redesigned to give a better and impressive look to the album art. The spreadsheet view has now been totally changed into the new grid view.
Another change in the new Xbox Music app on Windows 8.1 is that it can work in all Snap mode and screen sizes, so you can listen to your collection and even manage Library folders from within the app.
To get your hands on Xbox Music for Windows Phone or a Surface tablet, go to the Windows Marketplace and download the app. If you’re more into the web-based or browser app, head over to music.xbox.com to see the changes.
