The artist Shifted  (who also goes by Pacific Blue, Covered in Sand and Alexander Lewis) is releasing a new album called Under A Single Banner soon with more work on the way next year as well. His hard-hitting and sometimes gothic-industrial take on electronic music is road map for the dark side of electronic music on how to be dark without being gloomy.

That's not all there is for Shifted though, with more projects under other familiar aliases forthcoming: "Aside from this LP, I've been slowly writing new material for my Covered In Sand project. I plan to do something a little more substantial with it at the start of next year. Also just keeping on with developing Avian/Mira and working with Sigha on more material as A Model Authority," said --- when speaking to Resident Advisor.

He'll release Under A Single Banner on Bed Of Nails on Nov. 25. His decision to work with Dominick Fernow's (Vatican Shadow) label is a result of the two seeing eye-to-eye and ear-to-ear.

"... I met Dominick [Fernow] in Berlin recently and we got on well. I played him the LP and he immediately suggested we work together on putting it out. I only really like to work with a very small amount of labels, but Bed Of Nails seemed like an immediate sonic and aesthetic fit, and as it's not an entirely "techno" label I think it fits this project well," he said.

In the meantime, zone out to his 60 min Boiler Room x Nuits Sonores mix:
