The twelve albums that made Britain's Mercury Prize Shortlist were narrowed to one winner last night, with James Blake taking the prize for his album Overgrown. He's now in possession of the coveted prize and  £20,000! That’s, like, a lot! The Mercury Prize  list included David Bowie, Foals, Jon Hopkins and Savages. See the complete Mercury Prize list below.

"This year’s shortlist celebrates a fascinating year for British and Irish music, marked by a wonderful range of musical voices – urgent, reflective, upbeat and tender, acoustic and electronic, and all with something intriguing to say," reads the Mercury Prize announcement.

The Mercury Music Prize is open to any albums released by British and Irish artists between July 2012 and July 2013. Past winners have included PJ Harvey, The xx and Elbow.
