This is one intense and impressive video, that's for sure. It was announced before Halloween, and given the context, it seemed destined for a Halloween launch. It arrived today though, and is a collaboration between QOTSA and The Creators Project. Directed by Kii Arens and Jason Trucco and designed and developed by Darknet, the video is a 3D interactive walkthrough and has multiple things to click on and interact with. Check out the video preview below, then head of to vampyreoftimeandmemory.com for the interactive video.
The directors said this about the experience as a whole ""Working on this Queens video was the ultimate artistic joyride. Joshua Homme and company gave us the creative keys to the car from word go... and Josh has a badass car. Vampyre is such a thick track... On the technology side, Darknet was the perfect forward-thinking company to push the boundaries of music video presentation. All art is technology, technology that shares an experience or an idea. Vampyre uses all the tools available to us today to share a meaningful common experience. We're so proud to be a part of the best rock album in a decade. Long live The Queens!"
Rolling Stone is calling it "macabre visuals, disorienting graphics and a slow-motion performance of the band's psychedelic ballad," while SPIN adds "on November 19, the hard-rock heavyweights will release an exclusive, three-track live EP called ...Like Cologne."
