The best of news any day is something new from Flying Lotus -- but a whole album worth of new material is even better. Steven Ellison a.k.a. Flying Lotus let loose a bunch of tweets last night that confirmed that he has songs that are finished recording, he's reviewing the tracklist, and the album is ready for mixing. It also will have more of a jazz feel.
He's currently renegotiating his contract with Warp Records, which means he's without a label at the moment but seems like to stay with Warp. He called himself "floating lotus." He also said he would play at the 2014 Coachella Festival if asked. Same for SXSW Music.
Until The Quiet Comes was a stellar album and any new work will have to live up to not just that album but also the breakthrough album Cosmogramma in 2010. There was even a short film for UTQC that won an award at the Sundance Film Festival. Check it out below, with some of the Tweets that revealed the new album last night.
