Next up in the David Bowie 40th anniversary picture discs: the classic "Rebel Rebel," due out on Parlophone on March 10. It'll be a limited edition 7' issue, with original version of the song. David Bowie mentions that this version of the song has been unavailable on CD ever and hasn't been issued as a 7" since the early 80's. The b-side will be the regular US version.
The photos on the picture disc are from Bowie's trip to Amsterdam in 1974. You can see them up above.
“Originally released on February 15th 1974, Rebel Rebel was a first taste from the upcoming Diamond Dogs LP, though it was considered a bit of a curveball compared to much of the music on that album. It was the first release since the dissolution of The Spiders From Mars, though stylistically it may have been more at home on Aladdin Sane, with its up-tempo, Stones feel and with an unmistakable and instantly recognisable riff played by Bowie,” reads a statement from the David Bowie website
