John Frusciante & Omar Rodríguez-López Started A New Band With A Bunch Of People

John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Omar Rodríguez-López (Mars Volta) have started a new band with members of other bands, but totally don't want to be called an “all-star vanity project.” The band is called Kimono Kult and includes alumni of all of these bands: Mars Volta, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bosnian Rainbows, Swahili Blonde, Le Butcherettes, Dante Vs. Zombies, and Raw Geronimo.

They're releasing an EP called Hiding In The Light on Neurotic Yell Records on March 4, and in their words the release is “four songs of electro/dub/afro-beat/ avant-freak/jazz-like conversations of instrumental ecstasy.” Get your freak on and find out more here.
