UPDATE: Bandsintown is also developing a new to help bands on the road, adding a new angle on how the app helps bands promote their tours. Thier updated mobile for iOS and Android will let bands use Bandsintown become more usable, pivoting from just being a tour dates app to a larger tour management solution for both fans and bands.

Bandsintown is a platform for music lovers which keeps them updated with local concerts of their favorite bands. Bandsintown has recently taken the platform one step ahead by integrating it with Sony’s Music Unlimited streaming service to allow music lovers to sample the band’s music while deciding whether to attend the upcoming concert or not.

Bandsintown used to keep users updated with all the upcoming concerts and gigs, but now with the new integration, users can stream tracks for all the bands coming to their towns. Users can also share tracks for other users to listen and make up their mind about the upcoming concert. Bandsintown is available on Android, iOS and as a Facebook app as well.

Streaming the complete song requires a membership of Sony Music Unlimited, which starts at $5 per month, but the 30 second version of the track is absolutely free from within the Bandsintown app. The Sony Premium services are available at $10 per month, which will allow users to listen to full tracks on all the devices including PS3 and PS4. The existing users of Bandsintown get to listen to tracks of various bands coming to town and Sony Music Unlimited will be able to sell more memberships and increase the number of subscribers. It's a win-win situation for everyone!
