Now that Matthew Dear has fully recommitted to his Audion project, the stage is set for 2014 to be a massive year. He's doing a big tour called SUBVERTICUL with help from Heather Shaw at Vita Motus, which you might remember as the team who created Amon Tobin's mind-blowing ISAM tour. The whole tour is in support of Audion X, the retrospective release to celebrate 10 years of Audion, which was released last year.

“On my early albums and singles as myself and as Audion, everything was aimed at the dancefloor. I quickly realized, however, that the stuff under my own name was taking a more organic, lyrically centered approach, and the Audion material was going further into the dark corners of the warehouses and clubs. Once the split was apparent, it freed my creative limitations with each project, and I was able to pursue both more freely, and not confuse myself or my audience with the results,” he said when speaking to Billboard CODE.

So the stage is set. The SUBVERTICUL experience is kicking off at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on Feb 22 before moving to the Noise Pop Music Festival in San Francisco. There's an entire Audion world tour coming, dates will be announced at a later time. As for now, check out the newest single from Audion with “Motormouth”, and the even fresher Daniel Avery remix of the song “Sky.”
