Brian Eno and Karl Hyde are as big of names as you can find in the electronic music world -- they have long histories and numerous projects that span decades. Eno is a heavyweight in ambient and experimental and Karl Hyde has a big history as one half of Underworld. This should prove to be a fantastic collaboration then, when Brian Eno and Karl Hyde collaborate on a a new album and project for what they're calling Eno • Hyde. The new album they're doing is titled Someday World and has a release date of May 5 on Warp Records. They've even set up an Eno • Hyde website at www.enohyde.com.

Check out the new song "The Satellites" from the album below.

Someday World has both a full album and a bonus disc with four extra songs, you can have it delivered in CD, vinyl or as a download. The cover was even collaborative, with Brian Eno overseeing all of the artwork and Karl Hyde contributing the photograph used on the cover. Someday World was produced by Brian Eno and Fred Gibson. Appearances on the album come from Tessa Angus, Nell Catchpole, Marianna Champion, Will Champion, Kasia Daszykowska, Don E., Darla Eno, Fred Gibson, Georgie Gibson, Andy Mackay, John Reynolds and Chris Vatalaro.

“I had a big collection of 'beginnings' sitting around waiting for something to galvanise them into life, to make them more than just 'experiments'. That something turned out to be Karl Hyde,” said Eno about how the collabrative process began.

Karl Hyde added “It's a bit like being nine years old again.  You have no idea what you've just been given, the record button has been pressed and you're on. And then these unlikely patterns start to happen.”

They even had similar current faves in influences, Hyde added “The biggest surprise was discovering we both had a love of Afrobeat, Cyclical music based in live playing. When Brian played me these early tracks it was, 'Oh my god, this is home! Can I borrow a guitar?”
