Halifax Pop Explosion is Nova Scotia's mid-October surprise. It includes indie rock, electronic music and the occaisional hip hop act for five days of music -- it's also a music conference and features around 150 acts in 18 different venues. Formerly known as the "Halifax On Music Festival," it has a history that dates back to 1993 as a music gathering to promote the Halifax scene as the home of bands like Sloan and Thrush Hermit. The 2013 Halifax Pop Explosion dates are expected to be October 15 - 19.
Festival 2013 Tickets
Halifax Pop Explosion tickets are not on sale yet. They usually have three different types: the HPX Wristband which will get you into all of the shows; the Priority Pass, which gives you access to the music shows and the #HPX Music Conference; and the VIP Pass, which includes music shows, #HPX Music Conference. There's also tickets exclusively for the HPX digital Conference.
