The Hopscotch Music Festival is the music festival created by the alt-weekly newspaper Independent Weekly. It unites the triangle of the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill music scenes, long-standing contributors to the national music scene.

 

The Hopscotch Festival features 175 bands in 15 venues in Raleigh with far-reaching genres like rock, hip-hop, alt-country, metal, dance, punk, classical, noise, drone, folk, and more. It also features national acts, but its intention is to highlight the local music scene. The confirmed dates for the Hopscotch Music Festival in 2013 are Sept. 5 - 7. The Hopscotch Music Festival 2013 lineup has been announced, and Hopscotch tickets are on sale now.
