Lollapalooza was started by Perry Farrell 1991and went on until 1997, before taking a break until 2003. In 2003 Lollapalooza started up again before ending in 2004 under the weight of the cost of being a traveling festival, then in 2005 Lollapalooza planted itself in Chicago where it's stayed since then. The festival
grounds are located in Grant Park,
which is inside the downtown area of the
city.
