The enterprising people at Pitchfork decided that after curating 2005's Intonation Festival, and doing a SXSW showcase, that their next big move would be to create their own festival. Aptly naming it the Pitchfork Music Festival to avoid confusion over who owns the joint, they moved on to create a highly regarded festival.
The Pitchfork Music Festival added new acts to the 2012 lineup with the addition of Sleigh Bells, Dirty Projectors, Flying Lotus, Danny Brown, Clams Casino, the Olivia Tremor Control, Iceage, Purity Ring, The Men, Schoolboy Q, and the Atlas Moth. There's still more to come with the announcement of 20 more acts on the way.
Animal Collective, Fleet Foxes and TV on the Radio all headlined the last Pitchfork Music Festival. They retweeted Twitter updates from their @pitchforkmedia Twitter feed, using the hashtag #P4KFEST.
Pitchfork Music Festival single day ticket are going for $45, three-day tickets are $110. BUY TICKETS
