SXSW 2012 South by Southwest Music Festival SXSW 2012
March 14 - 18
Austin, Texas, USA

The South By Southwest (SXSW) 2012 Music Festival has already named its dates, and has opened ticket registration. The SXSW 2012 lineup will include bands we've never heard of, some of which will break out big later in the year.

This is the gathering that shapes the rest of the year ... check out anybody who'll be somebody at SXSW 2012. It's a week of shows, discussion panels, schmoozing, new bands, schmoozing, drunkeness while trying to schmooze, etc. They've announced most of the SXSW 2012 lineup.

There's a simultaneous SXSW Film Festival that coincides with the SXSW Music Festival. It's no Sundance yet, but it is an interesting indie venue, with over 170 films. There's also a SXSW Interactive component to cover the web.

WATCH VIDEOS FROM LAST YEAR'S SXSW

SXSW Panels for next year include names like "Music in Mobile, Tablets and Laptops: What's Next?," "What Happened to the Big Idea in Music Technology?" and "It Takes a Village to Break an Artist;" the SXSW Gear Expo will feature all the newness in guitars, amps, drums, and more from all sorts of names in the industry. There's also a four-day SXSW Trade Show exhibition for the Music, Film and Interactive parts of SXSW that features the Next Stage and Meet Up Pavilion.

SXSW Video

Check out video performances Death from Above 1979 (riots!) the Strokes, TV on the Radio and a lot more from last year's SXSW Music Festival, and come back for for more during and after the 2012 festival. Go to the SXSW video channel.

SXSW Tickets

Registration for SXSW 2012 tickets has opened. Registration badges come in individual or grouped for different conference segments with Platinum giving you access to Music + Film + Interactive, Gold is access to only Film + Interactive.
